In the art exchange initiative as part of the citybond between Leiden and Oxford, art society ARS provided each of the 20 participating artists with a small box with 10 identical objects. he idea behind is to make tiny artworks with these components, ship them to the UK and present them in Oxford. This is a picture of the box and it's content.
My idea was to create with some of the objects small artworks, i.e. a little painting on carton, a painted wedge, a tiny clay sculpture and then to pulverize, grind, sharpen, sand, disolve or finally burn each of the different artworks and parts. The remains are collected in three testtubes and placed in a rack. A QR-code next to the work refers to my website with pictures and some background information and explanation.
Art is transient, the remains itself are transient again, finally everything end as atoms to start new bonds..
